TJ Miller attended Montclair State University, in NJ receiving dance scholarships both freshman and
sophomore year, completing his BA in dance. Performance credits include lead male soloist in D-Man
In the Water, under Bill T. Jones. Nightmare and Encounters, Fear of Clowns and Promenade under the
direction of Robert Battle. TJ was honored to attend the American College Dance Festival his freshman
year- performing Under God – choreographed by Nicole Smith. TJ was
cast as a member of Ghoulmasters Ghost for Six Flags Great Adventure Frightfest 2009. In 2010 he
was cast in Six Flags production - Dead Man’s Party under the direction of Ashle Dawson.
As a teacher and choreographer, TJ offers a male perspective on contemporary dance styles with an emphasis on strength, technique and performance quality. Future plans include teaching/performing while completing his education in film and production and pursuing excellence in both.
TJ began dance at the age of 13 at Allstar Dance Academy competing and winning numerous titles both regionally and nationally as Top Male Soloist as well as numerous group pieces. Dance and choreography styles include, Jazz, Hip Hop, Acro, and Lyrical/Contemporary. Dance training includes these forms of dance as well as ballet technique, and a background in partnering. TJ has performed with the Team Rave Dance company, as a member and then moving on to gain working experience in backstage management and crew work.
